6 Podcasts for the Savvy Girl Boss

Ever since Serial burst onto the scene in 2015 and had every person with earbuds debating the finer points of our criminal justice system, podcasts have steadily climbed to the top slot of modern entertainment. They’re brilliant, really; in our age of side hustles, constant social connectivity, and an ever-increasing pace of life, multitasking is a necessity, not an option. Podcasts allow you to be entertained and informed during what would otherwise be wasted intellectual space: driving, grocery shopping, doing the dishes, etc. I got really interested in the emotional mechanisms of entrepreneurship and professional success (basically, the idea of living your best life) a few months ago, and found a bevy of podcasts suited to that interest. Below: 6 podcasts that are must-listens for current or aspiring entrepreneurs.

1) School of Greatness with Lewis Howes
Lewis Howes, a former professional football player, interviews successful men and women across a spectrum of industries. They usually get deep, and each episode leaves me with something new to ponder.

2) Million$
Forbes Million$, hosted by Forbes journalist Clare O’Connor, focuses on the business experiences and financial strategies of female entrepreneurs, such as Glossier’s Emily Weiss and Tyler Haney of Outdoor Voices. This podcast is particularly helpful if you are in the first stages of raising money for your business.

3) The WW Club/Make it Work with Phoebe Lovatt
The WW Club, or Working Women’s Club, is a great concept by itself, with an equally cool podcast. Founder and London-based writer Phoebe Lovatt sends out a weekly email with must-read links touching on feminism, business, and more, and the Club’s Make it Work podcast features interviews with female founders and creatives. Highly recommend both listening and signing up for the newsletter.

4) Lady Lovin’
Lady Lovin’ seriously feels like hanging out with your best friends; it’s my go-to when I’m in need of an emotional boost. Hosted by real-life BFFs/NYC It Girls Lo Bosworth, Jilly Hendrix, and Greta Titelman, no topic is off-limits, and they are hilarious without being snarky or joking at the expense of someone else. They also have amazing guests, many of whom are successful female entrepreneurs or professionals in non-traditional fields.

5) The Tim Ferriss Show
Similar to School of Greatness, the best-selling author of The 4-Hour Workweek interviews business tycoons, celebrities, and creatives across the board.

6) Ted Talks
Needs no description- just reminding you about a classic!
